How Animals Affect Us: Examining the Influence of Human-Animal Interactions on Human’s Health
How do animals impact our lives? Recently, there has been more attention given to the healing benefits of interacting with various species of animals. Science is beginning to explain that our relationships with animals and their environment possess great healing potential, but could research also recognize that others benefit from it? Would our interactions with animals also impact their quality of life, as well? Human-animal bonds are mutually beneficial relationships that hold the potential to nurture One Health for People as well as the animals involved. Health in this context includes not only to the physical benefit, but the mental, emotional, and social well-being of both people and animals.
Doing Business in 2006
This publication is the third in a series of annual reports giving a comparative analysis of business regulations and their enforcement across 155 countries and over time. Comparable data indicators are given for 10 topics: starting a business, dealing with licences, hiring and firing workers, registering property, getting credit, investment protection, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, and closing a business. These indicators are used to assess socio-economic outcomes including levels of unemployment and poverty, productivity, investment and corruption; and to identify which regulatory measures enhance business activity and those that work to constrain it. This is a co-publication of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.
WASTES 2015 - Solutions, Treatments and Opportunities
This volume presents a selection of papers from the WASTES 2015 conference, a platform for scientists and industries from the waste management and recycling sectors from around the world, who shared experiences and knowledge at the meeting.
