Media sosial memiliki dampak yang sangat besar terhadap perilaku seseorang. Fenomena komunikasi di era virtualitas menjadi salah satu topik yang menarik untuk dikaji. Media sosial telah banyak mengubah paradigma, prinsip dan pola pikir kebanyakan generasi khususnya generasi milenial. Perilaku yang dulunya masih menjunjung tinggi budaya sopan santun dan adab kini telah banyak berubah dan menjadi suatu kebiasaan “negative” yang dianggap sah. Tanpa kita sadari perilaku-perilaku tersebut ada di sekitar kita bahkan mungkin telah menjadi bagian dari kehidupan kita. Melalui buku ini penulis banyak membahas topik-topik yang sering dijumpai dalam aktivitas komunikasi melalui media sosial seperti phone snubbing (phubbing), cyber bullying, hate speech, flexing, catfishing, eksploitasi kemiskinan dan masih banyak lagi topik-topik menarik yang secara luas dibahas di dalam bab buku ini. Buku ini dapat digunakan oleh siswa sekolah, mahasiswa dan dosen atau praktisi ilmu komunikasi sebagai rujukan dalam kajian mengenai fenomena komunikasi di media sosial.
