Qayyima gamang. Di kolong flyover Ciputat, ia duduk termenung di depan lukisan-lukisan yang dijualnya. Bayangan ayahnya yang sedang sakit dan ketiga adiknya berkelebatan di benaknya. Bagaimana bisa dia mencukupi kebutuhan keluarga kalau tidak ada yang membeli lukisannya, lukisan yang dia buat di sela-sela sekolahnya? Seandainya ibunya masih hidup, mungkin semua akan berbeda. Kepergian ibunya menjadi titik balik yang menjungkirbalikkan hidupnya. Semua terenggut darinya, membuat Qayyima harus menjadi tulang punggung keluarga. Namun, jika ada satu hal yang selalu diyakini Qayyima, itu adalah bahwa hidup selayaknya dijalani dengan kerja keras, doa, tawakkal, dan ikhlas. Ketika kepiluan bertubi-tubi menghampirinya, Qayyima tak pernah mengira akan kembali merasakan kehilangan yang menyesakkan.
