Sumenep merupakan kerajaan kecil, semacam kadipaten, yang berkuasa terhadap wilayahnya di bawah Kerajaan Singosari, Kerajaan Majapahit, Kesultanan Demak, dan berlanjut pada Kesultanan Mataram, Namun, kerajaan Sumenep lebih tua dari pada Kerajaan Majapahit, apalagi sesudah-nya, seperti Kesultanan Demak dan Mataram. Oleh karena sebagai sebuah kerajaan, apalagi berusia lebih tua dari pada kerajaan ‘penerima upeti’, maka Kerajaan Sumenep atawa Kadipaten Sumenep memiliki banyak sejarah yang menarik dipublis ke publik, agar setidaknya, mereka yang belum tahu banyak tentang Sumenep mendapatkan tambahan pemahaman sejarah. Salah satunya “Pernik-pernik Sejarah Keraton Sumenep”, yang kali ini berupa Kalebun Mandaraga.
