Hace unos meses estaba conversando con alguien y entre tópico y tópico acabamos hablando de autores independientes. Me preguntó qué pensaba de ellos y contesté que me despertaban mucha empatía: pasarse días y noches escribiendo algo que, muy probablemente, jamás va a publicarse. Y si ocurre va a ser por medio de una editorial a la que apenas le alcanza para promocionar sus productos, en una tirada extremadamente limitada, que leerán unos cuantos y comprarán menos, y que será olvidado al año siguiente. Más que empatía, me llenan de energía, porque estos escritores, pese a ser plenamente conscientes de estas circunstancias, siguen escribiendo y no solo escribiendo, sino escribiendo cosas en las que se nota una preocupación por la forma, por la estética, porque sus escritos cumplan e incluso vayan más allá de los estándares de lo que normalmente se conoce como literatura.
