EMCIS covers technical, organizational, business, and social issues in the application of information technology and is dedicated to the definition and establishment of Information Systems (IS) as a discipline of high impact for IS professionals and practitioners. It focuses on approaches that facilitate the identification of innovative research of significant relevance to the IS discipline following sound research methodologies that lead to results of measurable impact. Big Data and Analytics
This book presents and discusses the main strategic and organizational challenges posed by Big Data and analytics in a manner relevant to both practitioners and scholars. The first part of the book analyzes strategic issues relating to the growing relevance of Big Data and analytics for competitive advantage, which is also attributable to empowerment of activities such as consumer profiling, market segmentation, and development of new products or services. End-User Development
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Symposium on End-User Development, IS-EUD 2017, held in Hatfield, UK, in July 2019. The 9 full papers and 8 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 35 submissions. The papers discuss progress in research around end-user development through, or towards, methods, socio-technical environments, intelligent agents, as well as the most effective end-user programming paradigms for smart environments. Papers and submissions in all categories addressed this specific theme together with topics that have been traditionally covered by the broader themes of end-user development, such as domain specific tools, spreadsheets, educational applications, and end user aspects.
