Resíduos Sólidos: Um olhar plural sobre gestão, valorização e pesquisa
A temática resíduos sólidos tem se tornado cada vez mais necessária e objeto de pesquisa com diferentes enfoques, tendo em vista que as soluções para sua gestão adequada perpassam por elementos técnicos, ambientais, sociais, comportamentais e econômicos. A Obra, Resíduos Sólidos: Um olhar plural sobre gestão, valorização e pesquisa, é uma coletânea de artigos produzidos, na sua maioria, por professores, alunos e servidores do Instituto Federal do Espírito Santo – Ifes, e também por professores e pesquisadores convidados da Universidade Federais do Espírito Santo e de Minas Gerais (Ufes e UFMG), da Fundação Ezequiel Dias (Funed – MG) e Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Minas Gerais (CEFET – MG), da Universidade de São Paulo (USP) e Centro Universitário Faesa, cujos trabalhos se alinham e contribuem para a geração de conhecimento sobre os resíduos sólidos no Brasil, em especial no Espírito Santo.
Characterization of Minerals, Metals, and Materials 2015
This collection focuses on the characterization of minerals, metals, and materials as well as the application of characterization results on the processing of these materials. Papers cover topics such as clays, ceramics, composites, ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, minerals, electronic materials, magnetic materials, environmental materials, advanced materials, and soft materials. In addition, papers covering materials extraction, materials processing, corrosion, welding, solidification, and method development are included. This book provides a current snapshot of characterization in materials science and its role in validating, informing, and driving current theories in the field of materials science. This volume will serve the dual purpose of furnishing a broad introduction of the field to novices while simultaneously serving to keep subject matter experts up-to-date.
Engineering Solutions for Sustainability
This book contains a collection of papers presented at Engineering Solutions for Sustainability: Materials and Resources II, a special symposium organized as part of the TMS 2015 Annual Meeting & Exhibition and held in Orlando, Florida, March 15-19, 2015. New Environmentally-Friendly and Sustainable Materials
One of the great challenges of contemporary society is establishing a sustainable way of life in harmony with the environment without compromising economic growth and technological development. On the other hand, the increase in the world population has driven per capita consumption, and consequently, the generation of waste. Because of this, new materials are being developed from different types of waste. This Special Issue aims to highlight and share recent scientific findings in the area of "New Environmentally Friendly and Sustainable Materials" manufactured from different material types (polymers, ceramics, metallics, and composites) and urban, industrial, mining and agricultural wastes.
