John Alexander Clark diary, 2 February 1894-12 January 1895. The John Alexander Clark diary chronicles Elder Clark's LDS mission to Palestine, part of the LDS Turkish Mission. Individual diary entries document his journey to his assigned area of service and include brief descriptions of Liverpool, London, Paris, Berlin, Dresden, Leipzig, Prague, Vienna, Belgrade, Constantinople, Beirut, and Haifa. In his diary, Elder Clark chronicles his study of Arabic and German as well as his missionary activities. His diary also includes descriptions of the Arab and German communities in Haifa, and descriptions of local sites and the countryside.

Alexander Clark (b.1743) married Mary Hoff in 1763 and, as Loyalists, the family immigrated from New Jersey to Parrtown, New Brunswick after the Revolutionary War. Descendants lived in New Brunswick and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to New England, New York and elsewhere in the United States.
