This book constitutes the proceedings of the 11th International Workshop on Statistical Atlases and Computational Models of the Heart, STACOM 2020, as well as two challenges: M&Ms - The Multi-Centre, Multi-Vendor, Multi-Disease Segmentation Challenge, and EMIDEC - Automatic Evaluation of Myocardial Infarction from Delayed-Enhancement Cardiac MRI Challenge. The 43 full papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 70 submissions. They deal with cardiac imaging and image processing, machine learning applied to cardiac imaging and image analysis, atlas construction, artificial intelligence, statistical modelling of cardiac function across different patient populations, cardiac computational physiology, model customization, atlas based functional analysis, ontological schemata for data and results, integrated functional and structural analyses, as well as the pre-clinical and clinical applicability of these methods.
The three-volume set LNCS 8149, 8150, and 8151 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2013, held in Nagoya, Japan, in September 2013. Based on rigorous peer reviews, the program committee carefully selected 262 revised papers from 789 submissions for presentation in three volumes. The 86 papers included in the second volume have been organized in the following topical sections: registration and atlas construction; microscopy, histology, and computer-aided diagnosis; motion modeling and compensation; segmentation; machine learning, statistical modeling, and atlases; computer-aided diagnosis and imaging biomarkers; physiological modeling, simulation, and planning; microscope, optical imaging, and histology; cardiology; vasculatures and tubular structures; brain segmentation and atlases; and functional MRI and neuroscience applications.
The four-volume set LNCS 11070, 11071, 11072, and 11073 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 21st International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2018, held in Granada, Spain, in September 2018. The 373 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 1068 submissions in a double-blind review process. The papers have been organized in the following topical sections: Part I: Image Quality and Artefacts; Image Reconstruction Methods; Machine Learning in Medical Imaging; Statistical Analysis for Medical Imaging; Image Registration Methods. Part II: Optical and Histology Applications: Optical Imaging Applications; Histo...
The two-volume set LNCS 8618 and 8619 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference EuroHaptics 2014, held in Versailles, France, in June 2014. The 118 papers (36 oral presentations and 82 poster presentations) presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 183 submissions. Furthermore, 27 demos were exhibited, each of them resulting in a short paper included in the volumes. These proceedings reflect the multidisciplinary nature of EuroHaptics and cover topics such as human-computer interaction, human-robot interactions, neuroscience, perception and psychophysics, biomechanics and motor control, modelling and simulation; and a broad range of applications in medicine, rehabilitation, art, and design.

Bilateral Cochlear Implants (CIs) offer great benefits to patients suffering from lack of hearing by improving speech understanding as well as by providing a sense of directionality. Software and hardware synchronization issues of binaural processing have limited all the benefits that could be offered by bilateral CIs. This book provides discussions on topics that include a generalized speech enhancement framework for bilateral cochlear implants using a single processor; long-term results of CIs; minimally invasive cochlear implantation; quality of life in adult CI recipients; and the evolution of the indications for CI and new frontiers.
