An Elephant Never Forgets
JOIN THE JEACs J Junior E Environmentalists A And C Conservationists in their third thrilling adventure! This time the JEACs Rohan, Amy, Nimal, Anu, Gina and Mich from India and Canada are heading to Sri Lanka for their summer holidays and will be based at the Alighasa Wildlife Conservation. They learn, upon arrival in Sri Lanka, that the Conservation is in the process of expanding, and that some of the animals, especially the elephants who tend to break out of the current section and destroy farmers crops will be relocated to the new area, which will have stronger barriers. Relocating elephants will be a novel experience for the JEACs and they look forward to it eagerly. However, when several incidents of sabotage occur at the Conservation, it becomes evident to the staff at Alighasa, as well as to the JEACs, that somebody is attempting to delay the relocation of the elephants. To make matters worse, elephants are being killed and their tusks stolen. The JEACs, assisted by Mahesika (a Sri Lankan girl), strive to uncover the plot and capture the crooks! The Patels Rohan, Anu, Gina and their cousin, Nimal live on a wildlife conservation in North India. Travelling home by train for the summer holidays, the children not only acquire a new addition to their family Hunter, the dog but also meet Peter, a young detective, who grew up on the Patiyak Wildlife Conservation with them. Peter has been assigned to their Conservation to deal with the problem of peacocks being killed for their feathers peacock feathers can be sold at exorbitant prices! Angry and upset, the youngsters assure Peter they will assist him, to the best of their ability, in saving the birds. While making plans to save the peacocks, the Patels decide to form a group called the Junior Environmentalists and Conservationists (the JEACs), and invite young people who want to protect animals and save the planet from further destruction to join up. Over the Christmas holidays, the JEACs Rohan, Nimal, Anu and Gina (two boys and two girls) and Hunter, their dog are invited to Brisbane, Australia, to help in the set-up of a new Conservation for sea creatures in the Gold Coast area, which will have a particular focus on dolphins. They meet Amy and Mich (two Canadian girls) and the seven of them become a closely-knit group, using their various talents for the Opening Day of the Conservation. Naturally, they fall in love with the dolphins! However, villains who own a shooting lodge in the Gold Coast do their best to cause trouble and prevent the Conservation from opening, but the youngsters are determined to foil their attempts. Kinnaird Wildlife Conservation Centre (KWCC), situated in the Cairngorm mountain range in Scotland, had their biggest success with the captive breeding of Panthera Uncia. Commonly known as snow leopards, these beautiful creatures are currently on the endangered species list. KWCC staff celebrated this success with their community, but the day after the event, three cubs and their parents are discovered missing! Foul play is suspected. Arriving three weeks after this contemptible incident, to spend their Christmas holidays at KWCC, the JEACs are horrified at the news. Naturally they are determined to catch the felons.
