Pada setiap pembelajaran umumnya seorang guru pasti akan memberikan penilaian. Pembaharuan kurikulum di masa sekarang memberikan sebuah pemahaman baru jika penilaian bukanlah sekadar angka melainkan bentuk evaluasi yang mendidik. Maka istilah evalusi pendidikan dimaknai sebagai proses untuk menentukan tingkat pencapaian siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Akan tetapi bentuk evaluasi yang diberikan kepada siswa harus sesuai prinsip dan prosedur UU No. 20 Tahun 2003 tentang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional. Hadirnya buku ini sedikit banyak akan memaparkan konsep evaluasi pendidikan sesuai kontekstual pendidikan agama Islam masa kini. Ada berbagai tingkat pendidikan yang dikemas dalam buku ini.
