This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the First International Workshop on Gerotechnology, IWoG 2018, held in Cáceres, Spain on December 14, 2018, and in Évora, Portugal, on December 17, 2018. The 24 revised full papers along with 8 short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 71 submissions.The papers are organized in topical sections on knowledge management for health: context, cognition, behavior and user modeling; technologies to increase the quality of life of the elderly population; Internet of Things (IoT); smarts technologies and algorithms for health; monitoring and management of chronic and non-chronic diseases;solutions for active aging, social integration and self-care; health interventions to support caregivers of elderly people; public health initiatives.
No Baú Da Vovó
Como a Ação Pública 3 agendada no FSM 2021 em 1° de outubro - Dia da Pessoa Idosa, com a publicação deste E-book “No Baú da Vovó”, obra com histórias escritas pelas avós ou por suas netas, as quais ao longo de suas vidas ouviram as suas avós contarem. A idealização do Projeto No Baú da Vovó surgiu de uma conversa com a escritora Maria Valéria Rezende no Chá com Letras na Academia em 2020 e agora é uma realidade! Agradecemos a nossa querida amiga escritora por prefaciar esta obra. Desta forma, o Canal Sororidade vem organizando encontros com as Mulheres desde novembro de 2020 e permanece mantendo a sua agenda em 2021. Sem dúvida, é uma grande realização estarmos com 100 Mulheres Escritoras participando neste volume, o qual vem sendo organizado por mim e pela Profª. Drª. Margarete Prado. E ainda, nesta edição, temos a grata satisfação de ter o apoio cultural da Academia de Letras do Brasil, Seccional Campos dos Goytacazes RJ, do Fórum Social Mundial e demais instituições parceiras que possam vir nos apoiar. Em janeiro de 2021, por ocasião do Fórum Social Mundial (FSM) 2021, o Canal Sororidade inscreveu a Iniciativa “Campanha por Mais Mulheres Escritoras” com o objetivo de garantir espaço às mulheres que sempre tiveram desejo de publicar os seus textos mas nunca tiveram oportunidade, muitas vezes com os seus escritos guardados na gaveta, no caderninho, ou mesmo no HD do computador. Desta forma, após aprovação pelo FSM, foi apresentada a Iniciativa na Ágora do FSM na semana de 23 a 31 de janeiro de 2021 com a “Campanha por Mais Mulheres Escritoras”, a qual passou a ser divulgada nas redes sociais com inscrições gratuitas para o e-book, completamos as 165 vagas para a coletânea....

Travel Writing and Cultural Memory / Écriture du voyage et mémoire culturelle
The present volume looks at the relation between travel writing and cultural memory from a variety of perspectives, ranging from theoretical concerns with genres and conventions to detailed analyses of single texts. As befits the topic, the contributions roam far and wide, both geographically and historically. Some detail early Portuguese voyages of discovery, particularly to the East. Others depict encounters between Early, and not so early, Modern Western travelers and their Other interlocutors. Still others focus on travel writings as literature. Voyages and voyaging in literature form the subject of the last category of essays gathered here. Amongst the authors discussed are Fernão Mendes Pinto, Jean de Sponde, Furtado de Mendonça, Sor Juana Inéz de la Cruz, Elsa Morante, Ingeborg Bachmann, Sophia Andresen, Paul Claudel, Graham Greene, Valéry Larbaud, David Mourão-Ferreira, J.M.G. le Clézio, José Saramago, Michel Leiris, and Claude Lévi-Strauss. The volume concludes with an essay by the French-Lebanese author Salah Stétié.
Portuguese and Luso-Asian Legacies in Southeast Asia, 1511-2011: The making of the Luso-Asian world, intricacies of engagement
Five hundred years later, a conference held in Singapore brought together a large group of scholars from widely different national, academic and disciplinary contexts, to analyse and discuss the intricate consequences of Portuguese interactions in Asia over the longue duree. The result of these discussions is a stimulating set of case studies that, as a rule, combine original archival and/or field research with innovative historiographical perspectives. Luso-Asian communities, real and imagined, and Luso-Asian heritage, material and symbolic, are studied with depth and insight. The range of thematic, chronological and geographic areas covered in these proceeding is truly remarkable, showing not only the extraordinary relevance of revisiting Luso-Asian interactions in the longer term, but also the surprising dynamism within an area of studies which seemed on the verge of exhaustion. After all, archives from all over the world, from Rio de Janeiro to London, from Lisbon to Rome, and from Goa to Macao, might still hold some secrets on the subject of Luso-Asian relations, when duly explored by resourceful scholars.
