This book presents the outcomes of a multi-methodical investigation of the processes of literacy acquisition. The focus is on mono- and bilingual first- and seventh-graders in schools in socially underprivileged areas of two major cities in Turkey and Germany. This book offers a historically and ethnographically informed case study of environmental governance, institutional and land-use change, and livelihood strategies in a former homeland in the South African Free State province. Based on rich archival material, the author reconstructs how the state invented a degradation narrative and used it as legitimation for the regulation of human-environment relations during the twentieth century. In addition, the study investigates how people today make a living in a post-agrarian society characterized by low agricultural production, diversification of non-farm incomes, and declining population numbers, declining population numbers. Author Christiane Naumann is a lecturer at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Cologne.
Schriftspracherwerb und Schriftvermittlung bei Mehrsprachigkeit
In diesem Band werden aktuelle empirische Studien aus dem Forschungsfeld Schriftspracherwerb und Schriftvermittlung bei mehrsprachigen Lerner*innen vorgestellt. Die Beiträge gehen mehrheitlich zurück auf die Tagung 'Erst- oder Zweitschrifterwerb? Schriftspracherwerb im Kontext von Mehrsprachigkeit', die im Mai 2019 im Rahmen der 'Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutsch als Zweitsprache' des Symposions Deutschdidaktik an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Freiburg stattfand. Die Forschungsprojekte befassen sich einerseits mit der Alphabetisierung von Kindern und jungen Erwachsenen, andererseits mit erwachsenen Lernenden in Alphabetisierungskursen. Dieses Spektrum zeigt die Themenvielfalt des Faches Deutsch als Zweitsprache auf und die Relevanz der Thematik auch außerhalb der Institution Schule. Außerdem werden Fragen nach dem Erwerb der Schrift(sprache) im Deutschen durch mehrsprachige Lernende und nach der Unterrichtsinteraktion im Kontext von Schriftvermittlung aufgeworfen.
Schriftspracherwerb und Mehrsprachigkeit
In den aktuellen bildungspolitischen Debatten um die Bildungssprache stehen nach wie vor die zweitsprachlichen - insbesondere die schriftsprachlichen - Kompetenzen von Schüler*innen mit einer anderen Erstsprache als Deutsch im Fokus. Vor diesem Hintergrund befasst sich diese Studie mit der Entwicklung schriftsprachlicher Kompetenzen mehrsprachiger Schüler*innen im syntaktischen Bereich. Die syntaktische Entwicklung im Türkischen und Deutschen wird im 7., 10. und 12. Jahrgang anhand schriftlicher argumentativer Texte untersucht. Mehrsprachigkeit im Kontext des Kurmancî-Kurdischen und des Deutschen
Das vorliegende Werk stellt sich anhand einer longitudinal angelegten Fallstudie einem Forschungsdesiderat: der mehrsprachigen Erwerbskonstellation Kurmancî-Kurdisch und Deutsch. Über einen Zeitraum von etwa acht Monaten werden die Sprachentwicklung und Sprachkompetenz von sechs Kindern im Vorschulalter in Kurmancî-Kurdisch und in Deutsch mit diversen Instrumenten erfasst und analysiert, wobei auch die weiteren Sprachen der Studienkinder sorgfältig herausgearbeitet und im Zusammenhang mit ihren ersten beiden Sprachen erläutert werden. Die Studie setzt sich auch mit dem Einfluss der Familiensprachpraxis auf die Sprachentwicklung und Sprachkompetenz auseinander. In diesem Zusammenhang wird außerdem die Rolle der bislang einmaligen bilingualen kurdisch-deutschen Kindertagesstätte Pîya mit in die Analyse eingeschlossen.
