Why did I want this book to be written? Well, I think I have had a very happy life, I've made friends, some as far back as 60 years when I was in my amateur opera days and some from my professional life. Naturally things change as you get older, but luckily, reading through my diaries it all comes flooding back. I hope dear readers, you will enjoy this.

Carefree War

During World War II Australia was under threat of invasion. Could Australia be invaded by the Japanese? Even with the heavy censorship by the government many certainly thought so. Stunned families had followed the bombings and atrocities of war that were taking place in Europe, and the nation was gripped by fear that the danger would soon be on their doorstep. A Mother's Struggle

Child abuse, Domestic violence both situations that can be left un-recognised. Fortunatly it has now got the support groups that it has long needed. These problems can even be happening within our own families or our friends. As a victim I know only too well how it is easier to keep quiet and not make a fuss but until we do, this misery wont stop. My experience of domestic violence was with my second husband, the first time he hit me he told me it was my fault, I made him. Then he said sorry and promised me it would never happen again it did and the mental cruelty came along with it. As a victim you are made to believe that you are worthless, useless and have no self-worth Eight years later for the safety of my boys and the sanity of myself I found the courage and strength to walk away with just our clothes. My boys now 27yrs and 23yrs continue to support me and have encouraged me to write this book in the hope that I can bring awareness to other sufferers who live this torture from daily and in silence. This is not your fault, and because you deserve more you have to seek help and when you have made this move life just falls into a happy, cheefull wonderfull world "believe me".
