William Gifford (d.-1739?) evidently arrived in New England with his wife, Elizabeth Grant and three children about 1643. They had at least six more children in America. William married secondly Mary Mills on 16 May 1683 at the Sandwich Friends Monthly Meeting. She " ... died 10 Feb.1734. She died intestate. She was the daughter of John and Sarah Mills of Blackpoint, Mass. (now Scarborough, Me.)"--Page 8. Descendants lived in Maine, Massachusetts, Iowa, Washington and elsewhere.
