Izjemnega pomena za raziskovanje arhitekta Jožeta Plečnika (1872–1957) je njegovo dopisovanje z bosenskim frančiškanom, fra Josipom Markušićem (1880–1968), eno osrednjih osebnosti frančiškanskega reda v provinci Bosna Srebrena, s katerim se je arhitekt spoznal ob gradnji cerkve sv. Antona Padovanskega v Beogradu. Obsežno korespondenco, ki obsega 800 enot (pisem, dopisnic ipd.) in zavzema široko časovno razdobje od leta 1932 do 1956, sta za natis pripravila zgodovinar dr. Jozo Džambo in umetnostni zgodovinar dr. Damjan Prelovšek. Delo brez dvoma predstavlja izjemen vir za razumevanje Plečnikovega sakralnega opusa, prinaša pa tudi precej podatkov o verskem življenju v Sloveniji, Bosni in Hercegovini ter drugih delih nekdanje Jugoslavije. Izdaja korespondence med Plečnikom in Markušićem predstavlja dobrodošel vir za raziskovalce umetnostne, cerkvene, družbene in politične zgodovine po vsej nekdanji Jugoslaviji.
