Introducción a la arquitectura. Conceptos fundamentales
Ver la arquitectura, entenderla y sentirla no es algo inmediato. Requiere un aprendizaje. Este libro es, ante todo, la apertura a un vocabulario, a un conjunto de términos a través de los cuales conceptualizamos y hacemos comunicable la experiencia de la arquitectura. Si, como dijera Wittgenstein, el conocimiento empieza en las palabras, entonces un libro de iniciación a la arquitectura es un libro que trata de glosar, de dotar de contenido ciertas palabras clave con las que, como si de na herramienta se tratara, hacer posible el montaje y desmontaje de nuestra experiencia de la arquitectura. Proponer una introducción a la arquitectura no es tarea sencilla. Una introducción destinada a futuros arquitectos, pero también a cualquier persona que desee abrir sus ojos y su sensibilidad a uno de los grandes campos de la creación humana de todos los tiempos.

Gaudí and the Amsterdam School
The fantastic works of Antoni Gaudí and the Amsterdam School still appeal to the imagination. And although the architects never met each other, they were children of the same period. They looked for beauty and individuality in a world which was becoming increasingly functional and impersonal. At the heart of their designs are nature and its organic forms, craftsmanship and traditional materials. At the same time, though, they did not turn their backs on modernity, embracing new techniques and production processes. This publication gives insight to the similarities and differences between the work and philosophy of Gaudí and the Amsterdam School architects. Special contributions from Spanish and Dutch scientists are collected in this book.
