18-vuotias Soile on kotoisin Taivalkoskelta. Kotona ei paljon lämpöä ja rakkautta jaeta, ja Soile päättääkin muuttaa Ouluun aloittamaan itsenäisen elämän. Työ kenkäkaupassa maksaa vuokran, mutta ystäviä ei vetäytyvä Soile työkavereistaan saa. Soilen on taisteltava masennusta, väkivaltaa ja maaseudun ahdasmielisyyttä vastaan ja osoitettava, että hiljaisessa tytössäkin voi piillä hurja voima. Ei kenenkään, ei koskaan on jo alkuperäisenä julkaisuvuonnaan 1985 puhuttanut kuvaus nuoren naisen rankasta polusta itsenäisyyteen. Sinikka Laine (s. 1945) on suomalainen nuortenkirjallisuuteen erikoistunut kirjailija ja toimittaja. Hän on julkaissut kymmenen nuortenkirjaa 1980- ja 1990-luvulla. Laineen kirjat sijoittuvat usein Pohjois-Suomeen, ja ne kertovat usein perhesuhteista ja erityisesti äidistä ja tyttäristä. Laine sai valtion kirjallisuuspalkinnon vuonna 1986.
