MACHINE LEARNING FOR CYBER SECURITY DETECTING ANOMALIES AND INSTRUSIONS

Because the Internet is so widespread in modern life and because of the expansion of technologies that are tied to it, such as smart cities, self-driving cars, health monitoring via wearables, and mobile banking, a growing number of people are becoming reliant on and addicted to the Internet. In spite of the fact that these technologies provide a great deal of improvement to individuals and communities, they are not without their fair share of concerns. By way of illustration, hackers have the ability to steal from or disrupt companies, therefore inflicting damage to people all across the world, if they exploit weaknesses. As a consequence of cyberattacks, businesses can face financial losse...

Artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications have risen to prominence as one of the most active study areas in recent years. In recent years, a rising number of AI applications have been applied in a variety of areas. Agriculture, transportation, medicine, and health are all being transformed by AI technology. The Internet of Things (IoT) market is thriving, having a significant impact on a wide variety of industries and applications, including e-health care, smart cities, smart transportation, and industrial engineering. Recent breakthroughs in artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques have reshaped various aspects of artificial vision, considerably improving the state of...

SUPERVISED LEARNING ALGORITHMS - CLASSIFICATION AND REGRESSION ALGORITHMS

The subset of machine learning algorithms known as supervised learning is an essential component that makes a substantial contribution to the resolution of a wide variety of problems that are associated with the study of artificial intelligence (AI). A dataset that has been labeled is given to the algorithm during the supervised learning phase. This dataset contains not only the input data but also the target labels that correlate to those data. Both sets of information are included. The objective of this activity is to construct a model or a mapping that is able to reliably predict the labels for data that has not yet been observed. There are a large number of algorithms that are commonly u...

Women and Labour in Late Colonial India

Women and Labour in Late Colonial India

Samita Sen's history of labouring women in Calcutta in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries considers how social constructions of gender shaped their lives. Dr Sen demonstrates how - in contrast to the experience of their male counterparts - the long-term trends in the Indian economy devalued women's labour, establishing patterns of urban migration and changing gender equations within the family. She relates these trends to the spread of dowry, enforced widowhood and child marriage. The book provides insight into the lives of poor urban women who were often perceived as prostitutes or social pariahs. Even trade unions refused to address their problems and they remained on the margins of organized political protest. The study will make a signficant contribution to the understanding of the social and economic history of colonial India and to notions of gender construction.

The Bhagirathi-Hooghly Basin in India is one of the most densely populated regions in the world and is undergoing rapid transformation of its natural landscape induced by human interventions, such as mushrooming of dams and barrages, deforestation, and urbanization. Human activities and interventions on basin landforms and the processes that shape those landforms have accelerated at an alarming rate. This book uses spatio-temporal analysis to understand the major anthropogenic signatures on land use and land cover changes and the impact these activities have on the landforms and processes of the Bhagirathi-Hooghly River and its sub-basins. It answers the what, where, why, and how of the anth...

Our world is unquestionably one in which ubiquitous movements of people, goods, technologies, media, money, and ideas produce systems of flows. Comparing case studies from across the world, including those from Benin, the United States, India, Mali, Senegal, Japan, Haiti, and Romania, this book focuses on quotidian landscapes of mobility. Despite their seemingly familiar and innocuous appearances, these spaces exert tremendous control over our behavior and activities. By examining and mapping the politics of place and motion, this book analyzes human beings’ embodied engagements with their built world and provides diverse perspectives on the ideological and political underpinnings of lands...

A natural long-chain polymer, chitin is the main component of the cell walls of fungi, the exoskeletons of arthropods (including crustaceans and insects), the radulas of mollusks, and the beaks and internal shells of cephalopods. However, marine crustacean shells are the primary sources of the chitin derivative chitosan. Chitin and chitosan are useful for various biological and biomedical applications, although they have been limited by poor solubility in the past. Current research focuses on increasing their solubility and bioactivity through molecular modifications. The resulting derivatives are receiving much attention for interesting properties, such as biocompatibility, biodegradability...
