Internet of Things (IoT) memiliki cakupan yang luas pada komunikasi perangkat elektronik, salah satunya wireless sensor network (WSN). Masa pakai baterai menjadi hambatan utama WSN, dimana masa pakai baterai mengacu pada waktu maksimum hingga salah satu node tidak berfungsi. Buku ini menjelaskan metode meningkatkan masa pakai baterai WSN berupa perangkat IoT dengan mengaplikasikan teknologi energy harvesting. Solar energy harvesting dipilih karena memiliki potensial yang besar di Indonesia (terletak pada garis khatulistiwa). Perancangan sistem diawali dengan pengukuran kebutuhan energi mikrokontroler dan sensor. Sistem yang dibuat menerapkan skema sleep dengan beberapa variasi interval. Hasil yang diperoleh dijumlahkan dengan energi yang hilang karena fenomena self-discharge baterai. Kebutuhan energi sistem tersebut ditetapkan sebagai nilai acuan jumlah energi harian yang harus dipanen. Selanjutnya dilakukan eksperimen konfigurasi energy harvester terbaik dengan mengubah variabel jumlah perbandingan lilitan induktor dan nilai resistor pada kaki basis transistor.
