Living in God’s Kingdom: a practical study guide is an attempt to devote ourselves “to the apostles’ teaching” (Acts 2:42) so “we reach unity in the faith” (Ephesians 4:12–13). It is to learn from Paul, as Menno Simons did, that “no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:11). This is a Tri-Conference work involving the Christian Mennonite Conference, Evangelical Mennonite Mission Conference, and Evangelical Mennonite Conference. Each chapter draws together the classical themes of Christian theology and Anabaptist emphases. The book includes the Apostles’ Creed and introduces the history and work of each conference. The material is suitable for classes of various ages and settings. The book can serve as a group study guide for six or more weeks, depending on how leaders select from and move through the lessons. A leader’s guide for the chapters has been developed, providing many questions and resources. Because of Jesus Christ, sent for our salvation, this book is presented to our churches to help potential, fresh, and older believers to follow Christ in life within his Church and Kingdom.

This is a companion book to Living in God's Kingdom: a practical study guide on the Christian life. This guide is intended to give you suggestions for discussion and further study. You may also use the discussion questions in the chapters to dig deeper. The format of the chapters allows for a 6-week class, covering the basic truths in each chapter. If you plan to teach the course in 6 weeks, focus on the chapter summaries and headings. If you wish to take more time, each chapter is subdivided into two topics (e.g., Chapter 1 – God Revealed and Listening to God), facilitating a 12-week class.

Dr. Thomas Weigel was born at Becherbach, Germany about 1730. He and his wife died in 1766 and were buried in Kostroma, Russia.
Johann "Hans" Ediger, 1775-1994
Johann "Hans" Ediger (1775-1835) was born in Montaurweide, West Prussia which is now part of Poland. The Ediger family was Mennonite and eventually moved into southwestern Russia to avoid religious persecution. Johann married twice and was the father of twelve children. Johann died in Schardau, Russia but several of his children immigrated to the United States and settled in Mennonite communities in Kansas. Their many descendants live in Kansas and throughout the United States
