We were in the mids of 2019 when we decided to organize a young researchers conference as the most important transnational event, subsequent to the inauguration of the UNESCO Chair of Culture Policy and Cultural Diplomacy of Istanbul Bilgi University established in 2018, held together with the chairs working in the same field. Through bridging theory and practice, Özlem Canyürek introduces the concept of ›thinking and acting interculturally‹ and proposes a set of criteria as a stepping stone for a semantic shift in cultural policy towards achieving a fair and accessible performing arts scene for all. The Ottoman Crisis in Western Anatolia
Ottoman Turkey's coastal provinces in the early nineteenth century were economic powerhouses, teeming with innovation, wealth and energy a legacy of the Ottoman s outward-looking and trade-orientated diplomacy. By the middle of the century, the wide-ranging and radical process of modernisation known collectively as the Tanzimat was underway, in part a symptom of a slow decline in Ottoman financial strength. By the 1920s, the coastal cities were ghost towns. The Ottoman Crisis in Western Anatolia seeks to unpick how and why this happened. A detailed, rich and authoritative regional study, this book offers a unique and original insight into the effects of forced migration, displacement, economic re-organisation and the competing political ideologies focused on modernisation all of which are central to the study of the late Ottoman Empire.
Forschungsfeld Kulturpolitik - eine Kartierung von Theorie und Praxis
Zwanzig Jahre lang hat Wolfgang Schneider als ordentlicher Professor für Kulturpolitik und als Direktor die Geschicke des Instituts für Kulturpolitik der Universität Hildesheim gelenkt. Im Zentrum stand dabei von Anfang an, Theorie und Praxis miteinander zu denken und zu gestalten. Zahlreiche Forschungsprojekte wurden im Laufe der Zeit von ihm initiiert und betreut – immer auf der Suche nach den Anknüpfungspunkten und der Rückbindung der wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse an Kulturpolitik und die Künste. Dieses Buch versammelt Beiträge von akademischen Weggefährt*innen, insbesondere von ehemaligen und aktuellen Doktorand*innen, und will damit eine Kartierung der Themenfelder und Perspektiven einer Hildesheimer Kulturpolitikwissenschaft vornehmen. Es versteht sich in diesem Sinne als Teil von Grundlagenforschung zur Kulturpolitik aus diversen Perspektiven eines kleinen Faches und als Impuls dieses Forschungsfeld weiterzudenken
İstanbul Turizm Çalıştayı
İstanbul Turizm Platformu öncülüğünde, 20 Ocak 2020 tarihinde Dedeman Otel'de düzenlenen İstanbul Turizm Çalıştayı’na 248 adet turizm paydaşı; sivil toplum, meslek örgütü, eğitim kurumu, özel sektör, kamu kuruluşu temsilcileri ve uzmanlar katılım sağlamıştır. Katılımcılar, farklı temalara sahip 28 masa etrafında bir araya gelerek; İstanbul’un bir turizm destinasyonu olarak vizyonunu tartışmış, anket yöntemi ile kapalı uçlu sorular puanlanmış, tematik sorunların tespiti yapılmış ve tespit edilen sorunların çözümüne ilişkin tartışmalar yürütülmüştür. Bu rapor İstanbul Turizm Çalıştay'nın sonuçlarını içermekte ve tüm çalışmaların kapsamlı bir özetini kamuoyuna ve ilgili tüm paydaşlara sunmaktadır.
