This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second Euro-NF International Conference, NET-COOP 2008 held in Paris, France, in September 2008. Structural Information and Communication Complexity
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 15th International Colloquium on Structural Information and Communication Complexity, SIROCCO 2008, held in Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland, in June 2008. The 22 revised full papers presented together with 2 invited talks were carefully reviewed and selected from 52 submissions. The papers cover topics such as distributed algorithms, compact data structures, information dissemination, informative labeling schemes, combinatorial optimization, and others, with potential applications to large scale distributed systems including global computing platforms, peer-to-peer systems and applications, social networks, wireless networks, and network protocols (such as routing, broadcasting, localization).
Automata, Languages and Programming
ICALP 2008, the 35th edition of the International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming, was held in Reykjavik, Iceland, July 7–11, 2008. ICALP is a series of annual conferences of the European Association for Th- reticalComputer Science(EATCS) which ?rsttook placein 1972.This year,the ICALP program consisted of the established Track A (focusing on algorithms, automata,complexityandgames)andTrackB(focusing onlogic,semanticsand theory of programming), and of the recently introduced Track C (focusing on security and cryptography foundations). In response to the call for papers, the Program Committees received 477 submissions, the highest ever: 269 for Track A, 122 for TrackB and 86 for Track C. Out of these, 126 papers were selected for inclusion in the scienti?c program: 70 papers for Track A, 32 for Track B and 24 for Track C. The selection was made by the Program Committees based on originality, quality, and relevance to theoretical computer science. The quality of the manuscripts was very high indeed, and many deserving papers could not be selected. ICALP 2008 consisted of ?ve invited lectures and the contributed papers.
Passive and Active Network Measurement
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Passive and Active Measurement, PAM 2009, held in Seoul, Korea, in April 2009. The 22 revised full papers and 2 revised demo papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 77 submissions. The papers focus on research and practical applications of routing and forwarding, topology and delay, methods for large-scale measurements, wireless, management tools, audio and video traffic, peer-to-peer, traffic measurements, and measurements of anomalous and unwanted traffic.
Hybrid Routing in Delay Tolerant Networks
This work addresses the integration of today's infrastructure-based networks with infrastructure-less networks. The resulting Hybrid Routing System allows for communication over both network types and can help to overcome cost, communication, and overload problems. Mobility aspect resulting from infrastructure-less networks are analyzed and analytical models developed. For development and deployment of the Hybrid Routing System an overlay-based framework is presented.

Studies on Urban Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks
With the advancement of wireless technology, vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are emerging as a promising approach to realizing "smart cities" and addressing many important transportation problems such as road safety, efficiency, and convenience.
