EVERY PERSON HAS TWO FUNDAMENTAL PARTS inside them. One is how we think about and view ourselves—our personality or ego. The other is who we truly are—our essence. Our essence is what connects us to Ultimate Consciousness and Supreme Wisdom, and brings us closer to Ahura Mazda, or God. However, most of us live our lives unaware of our essence and remain in the lower level of our ego. We need to become conscious of our essence and transcend our ego to become who we truly are. This transcendence can be achieved by following the ancient teaching and wisdom of Zarathustra, a spiritual teacher who lived more than 5,000 years ago in Persia. Rooted in the philosophy of good thoughts, good words...

Human beings are not born to creep and craw on Earth like caterpillars. They are born to transform into butterflies and become free. Through intention, learning, and wisdom, this freedom is possible for each one of us. Throughout history, the wisdom of Zarathustra has spread and impacted a variety of different belief systems. His wisdom has inspired and guided Greeks, Romans, Jews, Muslims, and Christians. Before the time of Zarathustra, people worshiped many gods and goddesses. They worshiped different gods for rain, prosperity, health, sunshine, earthquakes, or floods. Zarathustra challenged the old tradition of the Indo-European religions that was practiced before him and created an aware...

DO WE ACTUALLY HAVE A CHOICE IN WHO WE ARE? Obviously, we do not have a choice in where, when, or to whom we were born, or any physical characteristics or limitations we are born with. But what about our life circumstances? To what extent do we have a choice in the struggles we experience in life, the thoughts we think, or even our career or financial situation? How much of our life is influenced by external factors such as biology, accident, or even luck? These questions leave us wondering if we really have any choice or control over the direction, circumstances, and experiences of our lives. The factors that influence our lives and our choices are numerous and complex. In Mazdaism, the belief is that we indeed have the freedom to choose. The teachings of Zarathustra explain that we are not defined by our personality, but by our essence. With deep understanding, awareness, and by elevating our consciousness, we can nurture higher qualities within our minds and achieve true freedom. Without this, we are not genuinely free to shape our destiny.

Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds

WE USE THE WORD “GOOD” EVERY DAY without really thinking about what it truly means. What does “good” mean? We say “good morning,” we call a tasty meal “good,” and if we’ve seen a movie we liked we say it was “good.” But “good” has a deeper meaning, one that is central to the core of our being, and expresses our authentic self. Zarathustra, the founder of Mazdaism and Zoroastrianism, teaches the meaning of “good” by encouraging “good thoughts, good words, good deeds.” This teaching delves into the consciousness of each person’s right to choose. By becoming aware of our internal world and choosing good thoughts and good words, we reach higher levels of consciousness and the result is doing good deeds. We grow into our authentic selves when we do no harm to ourselves or others. This is the meaning of “good.” By once again employing analogy and metaphor, Bahram invites us into a deeper understanding of what it means to choose what is good and follow the universal teachings of Zarathustra.

A System's Evaluation of Global History of Indian Architecture

Deep within an inner cave (guhahitam) of our existence remains our potential Divinity. It is the place where our reflected sentient being (the First Bird) is trying to probe into to recover the hidden sun. The allegory is evident in the parable of the Cave once preached by the Upanishads and later by the Greek philosopher Plato. The probe is to push forward the First Bird to surge higher in the resplendent celestial blue under the full radiance of the Solar world, which is the Second, resulting in an explosion of an infinite all-pervading Divinity. Till the union and the rapture is attained, there are the two Birds – one, the psychic being, which is within us and the other one, which is th...
