This book demonstrates how companies can effectively promote their business by assuming political responsibility and expanding their investment concept to include a political component. It shows that the success of companies is crucially dependent on socio-political conditions. In other words: politically sustainable management is a business case. Therefore companies should take a closer look at the opportunities at the interface of politics and business. To date, there has not been a satisfactory assessment of the issue of Corporate Political Responsibility (CPR), which combines a conceptual framework with practical measures for implementation. This book remedies that oversight, and shows h...

Dieter Flader explores how current social and cultural concerns are connected to the unconscious, and how this affects our responses to them. Flader focuses on the role of the ego, assessing how our feelings about these issues in adulthood grow from childhood fears and desires, and integrating the existing psychoanalytic theories of Winnicott, Lacan, Kohut, and others with sociological and political theory. The interdisciplinary approach not only analyses current social issues but also generates new perspectives and solutions, and examines examples including climate change, bullying, and vegetarianism.
Essays in aesthetics by the philosopher Ernst Bloch that belong to the tradition of cultural criticism represented by Georg Lukács, Theodor Adorno, and Walter Benjamin. The aesthetic essays of the philosopher Ernst Bloch (1885–1977) belong to the rich tradition of cultural criticism represented by Georg Lukács, Theodor Adorno, and Walter Benjamin. Bloch was a significant creative source for these thinkers, and his impact is nowhere more evident than in writings on art. Bloch was fascinated with art as a reflection of both social realities and human dreams. Whether he is discussing architecture or detective novels, the theme that drives his work is always the same—the striving for "some...
Truths, facts and opinions on the climate issue are often met with psychological or social defense, both publicly and privately. Based on selected psychological and philosophical theories as well as data material, this book shows how defense comes about, how it works, and how, on the other hand, the necessary recognition can succeed on various levels. It is only through recognition that constructive discourse becomes possible. This book offers all the basics to be able to theoretically and practically solve communication conflicts between defense and recognition in the climate crisis. The author Dr. Barbara Strohschein is a philosopher and psychologist working in research and consulting. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content.
