Binder Bound and the Mizbeyach tells the tale of the Akedah, the Binding of Isaac. The text comes from a 12th century poem entitled Et Shaare Ratson written by Rabbi Yehuda ben Shmuel ibn Abbas. The poem is read and sung by Sefardi Jewish communities all over the world. The most dramatic moment takes place as Isaac encourages his father to bind the ropes tighter and sharpen the knife!
