Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 I had an amazing childhood, despite my mother not being married to my father. I was surrounded by books, ballet, and piano lessons. I was in Girl Scouts, and I had every enrichment program in between. I had the best of everything, but I couldn’t escape one fatal flaw: my mother wasn’t married to my father. #2 The church and the community weren’t the only places where my mother endured the stigma of being pregnant and unmarried. She was also shunned by relatives because she had a college degree and was heavily involved in church. #3 I spent my childhood trying to prove I was worthy of my mother’s love and care. I was constantly in trouble at school because I was always talking and disrupting class, and I never got good grades. #4 I never felt worthy of my mother, who was God to me. I felt like I’d ruined her life and her dreams, and that I was a burden to her. Yet she wanted me, and she spent her entire childhood trying to destroy the church’s teachings about single mothers and their children.

I have been hunting up and down along the cliffs for the last hour or more, till I began to fear that you must have been carried off by a Barbary corsair, or spirited away on the end of Mother ShiptonÕs broomstick.Ó The speaker was a fine-looking lad of sixteen, dressed in the costume worn by Puritans in the time of the second CharlesÑa long cloth coat of unobtrusive hue, knee-breeches, high-heeled shoes with large buckles, a thick neckcloth tied in a bow, and a high-crowned, broad-brimmed hat; but the brim of the ladÕs hat was looped up on one side by a rosette of silver lace, his shoe-buckles were of massive silver, his neckcloth was of silk, a...

Steve Benbow's enormous success with urban beekeeping show's how easy it is to keep bees, whether you're in the city or in the countryside, a beginner or an experienced beekeeper, and you'll never look back once you've tasted your very own sticky, golden honey, or lit a candle made from the beeswax from your beehive. Steve Benbow is a visionary beekeeper who started his first beehive ten years ago on the roof of his tower block in Bermondsey and today runs 30 sites across the city. His bees live atop the Tate Modern and Tate Britain, Fortnum & Mason and the Nationa...
