Mountains and Megastructures
This book explores the shared qualities of mountains as naturally-formed landscapes, and of megastructures as manmade landscapes, seeking to unravel how each can be understood as an open system of complex network relationships (human, natural and artificial). By looking at mountains and megastructures in an interchangeable way, the book negotiates the fixed boundaries of natural and artificial worlds, to suggest a more complex relationship between landscape and architecture. It suggests an ecological understanding of the interconnectedness of architecture and landscape, and an entangled network of relations. Urban, colonialist, fictional, rural and historical landscapes are interwoven into this fabric that also involves discontinuities, tensions and conflicts as parts of a system that is never linear, but rather fluid and organic as driven by human endeavor.

Religious Transnationalism and Climate Change
This book examines the role of religious actors in the field of climate change and especially in the international mobilization and negotiations to address the issue. It analyzes the mode of action and their discourses on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The international Climate Change Framework Convention is primarily a process that can best be understood by analyzing the various steps taken by the international community, and specifically by different religious groupings, here, in the project manuscript, mainly Christians but also Muslims and Buddhists, in raising environmental consciousness through their programs. The interfaith dimension also plays a major role and needs to be studied in terms of the international realm of international liberal theories based on reciprocity, interdependence and cooperation but also within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals.
The French Parliament and the European Union
This book explores how the European Union has changed the French Parliament since 1992. It supports the view that the institutional adaptation of both assemblies to European affairs is largely superficial as it lacks a genuine involvement from members of parliament. Nevertheless, the role of backbenchers has changed in the context of European integration. New ways of behaving, thinking and representing have emerged. From specialized representatives to constituency members, from presidential aspirants to Eurosceptic sovereigntists, French national parliamentarians have adapted differently to the EU. Far beyond the sole scrutiny of European draft legislation, the book provides a comprehensive map of this changing environment. It supports the view that the process has been driven by the search for day-to-day emotional gratifications rather than utilitarian strategies.
