Sprache in der DDR
Was ein "Broiler" ist oder was man unter einer "Datsche" versteht, weiß jeder. Aber was verbirgt sich hinter Begriffen wie Arbeiterkorrespondent, Passowmethode, Wurfrotationsflachkegel, Hockauf-Bewegung oder Präsent 20? Auch Wörter wie Auflage, Preisbildung, Angestellter und Jugendförderung hatten in der DDR eine eigene Bedeutung. Sprachschöpfungen wie "Mumienexpress" und "Wartegemeinschaft" zeugen von spöttischer Kommentierung der Realität. Und ein "Oberlehrer" in der DDR war nicht identisch mit einem "Oberlehrer" in der Bundesrepublik.Zehn Jahre nach der Vereinigung hat die in der DDR aufgewachsene Autorin ihre linguistischen Erfahrungen und Kenntnisse über die Besonderheiten des DDR-Wortschatzes in einer Mischung von sachlichen Erläuterungen und ergänzenden Kontextbeispielen wiedergegeben, ohne an einer strengen Beschreibungssprache festzuhalten.
