The Other Face of the Cross - The Forbidden Testament of Death on Calvary by Barnabas The Other Face of the Cross unveils a forbidden gospel that history tried, in vain, to keep buried. Based on the Apocryphal Testament known as the Gospel of Barnabas, this hidden gospel confronts one of the most controversial mysteries of early Christianity: the suggestion that it was Judas, and not Jesus, who was crucified. For centuries, this apocryphal Barnabas text was silenced, hidden among secret manuscripts, feared for the way it challenges the foundation of Christian faith. In this daring exploration, Alan Bradley delves into the lost gospels, revealing Barnabas’s forbidden witness of a divine exc...

The Tunguska Mystery

The purpose of the book is a dual one: to detail the nature and results of Tunguska investigations in the former USSR and present-day CIS, and to destroy two long-standing myths still held in the West. The first concerns alleged “final solutions” that have ostensibly been found in Russia or elsewhere. The second concerns the mistaken belief that there has been little or no progress in understanding the nature of the Tunguska phenomenon. All this is treated by the author in a scholarly and responsible manner. Although the book does present certain unusual findings of Russian and Ukrainian scholars, it is important to stress that this is not a sensational book; it is, rather, a serious exposition of the results of rational investigations into a difficult scientific problem. We are demonstrating the true complexity of the problem that is now entering its second century of existence. Simple meteoritic models cannot explain all the characteristics of this complicated event, and therefore certain so-called “unconventional hypotheses” about the nature of the Tunguska explosion are to be considered as well.

Culture as Soft Power

Culture as Soft Power

This book contributes to bridge the gap between different scholarly communities interested in the entanglements of culture and politics in the international arena. It sheds light on existing connections in their parallel evolution with a thorough literature review, complemented by several case studies showing the fruitful character of their interdisciplinary mobilisation. Through the notions of cultural relations, intellectual cooperation and cultural diplomacy, the book draws on a soft power perspective to offer a shared, novel, and interdisciplinary theoretical framework to approach cultural institutions and organisations that have been previously examined as isolated objects: for example, cultural institutes, international organisations, literary magazines, and literary contests. The interdisciplinary nature of this volume justifies the relevance of its content for scholars working in the history of international relations, international cultural relations and intellectual history, comparative literature, sociology of literature and global literary studies.
