Corpus Dialectology
Corpus Dialectology combines the fields of corpus linguistics and dialectological mapping. It concerns documentation of linguistic variation and mapping of linguistic spaces and boundaries, while ascribing renewed importance to the methodology and the material itself, especially data processing and statistical analysis. This approach considers phenomena that have received little attention to date, such as migration, language contact, mobility and educational level, as well as the differentiation between rural and urban spaces. Transparently described and intersubjectively comprehensible encodings permit the enhancement of dialectometry in the context of Digital Humanities and further development of linguistic theories of variation and change, as well as different levels of structure (phonology, morphosyntax, semantics). This book contains nine chapters on ongoing corpus dialectological research projects. They discuss current issues of data collection, for example the validity of crowdsourced data, explore challenges and possibilities of data analysis and offer theoretical reflections on virtual Romance geolinguistics.
Lazos entre lingüística e ideología desde un enfoque historiográfico (SS. XVI-XX)
Los 17 trabajos reunidos en este volumen estudian, desde una óptica historiográfica, la manifestación explícita y/o implícita de ideologías en textos de carácter metalingüístico. Tomando como eje las relaciones entre lingüística e ideología y su proyección en el ámbito social, político o didáctico, se analiza aquí el contenido de obras gramaticales, lexicográficas y ortográficas, historias de lenguas, artículos periodísticos, discursos, manifiestos y otros escritos publicados en la horquilla comprendida entre los siglos XVI y XX. Aunque el grueso de los trabajos se articula en torno a textos sobre el español tanto en su variedad europea como americana, también se da aquí cabida a contribuciones sobre sistemas lingüísticos pasados, como el latín o el mozárabe; sobre otras lenguas peninsulares contemporáneas, como el euskera o el catalán y sus variedades dialectales; sobre el componente ideológico de los textos en los que la enseñanza del castellano se ve influida por el idioma de los destinatarios, como el inglés, el árabe marroquí o el japonés, e, incluso, sobre el complejo universo de las lenguas artificiales.

Tense, Aspect and Discourse Structure
Tense and aspect are crucial devices of sentence meaning. They interact with Aktionsart, but also with verb types and adverbs when indicating temporal relations and building temporal discourse structure. Digital Flux, Linguistic Justice and Minoritized Languages
The concept of linguistic justice, as applied to minoritized languages, sheds light upon the way in which minoritized communities conduct their lives in less than optimal environments. Precisely for that reason, the theoretical framework for the study of minoritized languages has been constructed from different areas of knowledge, creating a situation in which "language" is just one of the elements. This collection of essays proposes to recover the centrality of bilingualism, biculturalism and bidialectalism in the understanding of the different social, cultural and political processes of historical and contemporary language justice. It provides relevant theoretical and practical frameworks on the latest studies in linguistic justice as applied to minoritized languages and linguistic varieties such as Korean in Los Angeles, USA, Arabic in Spain, or Náhuat in Central America. Analyzing the acquisition, maintenance and attrition of these languages both in digital and physical environments, the volume contributes to expanding our knowledge of the sociolinguistic, educational, political and social realities that occur in minoritized languages.

Jews and Muslims Made Visible in Christian Iberia and Beyond, 14th to 18th Centuries
This volume aims to show through various case studies how the interrelations between Jews, Muslims and Christians in Iberia were negotiated in the field of images, objects and architecture during the Later Middle Ages and Early Modernity. . By looking at the ways pre-modern Iberians envisioned diversity, we can reconstruct several stories, frequently interwoven with devotional literature, poetry or Inquisitorial trials, and usually quite different from a binary story of simple opposition. The book’s point of departure narrates the relationship between images and conversions, analysing the mechanisms of hybridity, and proposing a new explanation for the representation of otherness as the complex outcome of a negotiation involving integration. Standard Negation
This book is the first cross-linguistic study of clausal negation based on an extensive and systematic language sample. Methodological issues, especially sampling, are discussed at length. Standard negation – the basic structural means languages have for negating declarative verbal main clauses – is typologized from a new perspective, paying attention to structural differences between affirmatives and negatives.
