Teaching in Effective Primary Schools

Headteachers, teachers, parents, politicians and school governors have long been united in wondering how to produce effective teaching in primary schools - but they could find few reliable answers. This book changes that. Here, some of the UK's leading researchers into effective primary school provision combine qualitative and quantitative research findings to shine a spotlight on teaching in effective primary schools. They reveal the pedagogical strategies that are the hallmark of successful schools and bring these strategies to life through detailed observations of classroom interactions. Reading this book takes you into the classrooms of skillful teachers and describes inspirational teaching. The book offers accessible, multi-layered evidence for making learning more engaging and motivating for children, through better pedagogical practice.

Poetic Praise

Poetic Praise By: Dr. Brenda L. Taggart Poetic Praise Know Your Prophets Identify the Apostles Dr. Brenda L. Taggart Poetic Praise was written to give praise to our Lord using poetry. The intent to publish it was to influence others to appreciate the attributes of a spiritual life, and to give Him the praise He so rightfully deserves. The beginning of a spirit-driven life is acknowledging and professing Him as your Lord and Savior. The Trivia section, questions – with answers, regarding the prophets, is to hopefully encourage others to further study the lives of the prophets. They were messengers, commissioned by God, to encourage and teach God’s people, and also confront their sin, warning them of God’s judgment . They were each unique in their own way. Their life stories are fascinating. They came from all walks of life, with different personalities, but each dedicated to God and serving Him. They often prophesied future events, and these events have all come to pass, except for the second coming of our Lord. May this book, with God’s help, accomplish the purpose intended by this author.

Assessing Quality in the Early Years

The Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale - Extension (ECERS-E) has been developed by Kathy Sylva, Iram Sraj-Batchford and Brenda Taggart as an instrument to measure quality in literacy, numeracy, science and diversity, as observable in pre-school settings. The scales are in accord with the United Kingdom1s Foundation Stage Curriculum. ECERS-E complements the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scales-Revised (ECERS-R), an internationally recognised measure of quality in education and care. Although originally devised as a research tool, the scales have been used by early years practitioners during self audits to determine quality of provision. This practical handbook will be of interest to all those concerned with providing a quality environment in which young children1s learning can flourish.

The Early Years Transition and Special Educational Needs (EYTSEN) research builds on the work of the Effective Provision of Pre-School Education (EPPE) project, a major longitudinal study of a national sample of young children’s progress and development through pre-school and into primary school until the end of Key Stage 1. This paper reports on information from a questionnaire sent out to parents when their children were attending primary school. The extensive reference to children who had special education needs in this paper is in the context of parent’s reports.

This new update of the 2003 publication has more extensive notes, derived from feedback from extensive use of the instrument by practitioners in hundreds of settings and from local authority early years specialists. Poetic Profiles of the Minor Prophets

Poetic Profiles of the Minor Prophets: Depicted in the Old Testament By: Dr. Brenda L. Taggart Writings of the minor prophets comprise a large part of the Old Testament. These prophets were referred to as minor, not in reference to the role they played, as compared to the major prophets, but the content of the book they wrote. Each prophet was called individually by God and relayed the messages God gave them. Each had their own personality and relayed their messages in their own style. They were not always popular with their messages, as they were often harsh, as they confronted people with their sins warning of their coming judgment. Poetic Profiles of the Minor Prophets: Depicted in the Old Testament, written in poetic form for more pleasurable reading, will surely entice you to open your Bible and read more about these special men.
