Este libro brinda herramientas para abordar los dispositivos de acompañamiento terapéutico en diferentes ámbitos: clínico, grupal, institucional y comunitario. Analiza el devenir del AT, desde sus orígenes en la clínica centrada en los procesos subjetivos hasta el trabajo en el campo comunitario. Existen intensos debates en relación a las concepciones teóricas en que se basa el ejercicio del rol que hoy incluye el trabajo con niños y adolescentes, la inserción de la familia en los dispositivos, el espacio de las tecnologías en la vida cotidiana, la labor en las instituciones de internación, el lugar de los equipos y la interdisciplina en el armado de los dispositivos y el papel de los acompañantes terapéuticos en cada uno de estos espacios.
