This book provides a wealth of detailed hysteroscopic images, illustrating the various gynecological pathologies that can be directly diagnosed by hysteroscopy. Providing comprehensive coverage, the book examines each pathology on the basis of concrete images, offering readers support with the diagnostic evaluation. This is especially important when there are recrudescent pathologies, such as TBC, which can often confuse physicians in the context of diagnosis, and with regard to oncological, infectious and infertility issues. Written by prominent experts in the field, this atlas offers an extremely useful and comprehensive tool for all gynecologists, which can support them to overcome any diagnostic doubts and arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
This book offers a cutting-edge guide to hysteroscopy and provides readers with the latest and most essential information on procedure techniques, clinical advances and international developments in practice and treatment of endometrial pathology. Providing comprehensive coverage, it explains in detail every aspect of hysteroscopy, from diagnostics to hysteroscopic surgery. As such, it addresses the bases of hysteroscopy; pre-, intra- and post-hysteroscopy medications; intracavitary pathologies; fertility issues; and surgical implications and complications. At the same time, it also explores challenging and controversial topics, such as hysteroscopy and ART, submucous myomas, and uterine malformations. All topics are discussed by prominent experts in the field, and clearly organized and illustrated to help readers gain the most from each chapter. Accordingly, the book offers a valuable resource for all gynecologists working at hysteroscopy units, reproductive units, gynecological and oncological units, as well as a quick reference guide for all other physicians interested in the topic.
Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery provides a complete, practical and timely review of the minimally invasive surgical techniques used to treat gynaecologic diseases and conditions. Recent advances in technology and instrumentation, particularly the use of robot-assisted surgery, mean that minimally invasive approaches have become increasingly established as alternatives to traditional open surgeries. This book describes the full range of minimally invasive procedures in current gynaecologic practice, with discussion of the indications and contraindications and a summary of available evidence. The book opens with a section describing instrumentation, electrosurgery, how to avoid and manage complications and single port surgery. Subsequent sections cover procedures for benign and malignant conditions and relevant robotically assisted surgeries. Highly structured chapters provide practical guidance to key steps of each procedure, alternative management options; contraindications and available evidence Stellar contributors from leading centers in the USA, Brazil, Chile, Canada, France, Italy and Belgium ensure coverage reflects global best practice
Just as hysteroscopy has become an essential part of modern gynecologic practice, outpatient procedures in gynecology and gynaecologic surgery with all of the associated benefits to both patient and practice, have increased dramatically in recent years. Ambulatory Hysteroscopy is, first and foremost, a highly practical and rounded manual for the beginner and an essential reference for the experienced practitioner. From a global perspective, this new text addresses all of the practical, diagnostic, operative, administrative, teambuilding, and training issues associated with practicing ambulatory hysteroscopy. Ambulatory Hysteroscopy captures the knowledge and experience of those who have pioneered and refined outpatient procedures. The text is concise, clear, hugely informative and beautifully illustrated. This text is easy to read and easy to use!
Because of increasing worldwide interest in the subject, a decision was made to coordinate the papers presented at the First European Symposium on Hysteroscopy, held in Antwerp, Belgium, in September 1982, into a text on hysteroscopy, including its indications, techniques, and complications. The Organising Committee called on Dr. Louis G. Keith of Northwestern University, Chicago, illinois USA, to edit all of the papers and to prepare them for publication as a multi-author textbook rather than as a haphazard collection of the proceedings of a meeting. Dr. Keith also supervised the many details of preparing the manuscript for publication, including the task of copy editing. The speakers at th...
Female genital malformations represent miscellaneous deviations from normal anatomy. With a prevalence of approximately 6% in the general population, they might be associated with health problems, potentially dangerous complications or poor reproductive outcome depending on the type and the degree of the anatomical abnormality. During the last two decades the better understanding of their pathogenesis, the availability of new non-invasive techniques for their diagnosis and the increased experience from their treatment have radically changed their management. A new, clinically oriented classification system has now been developed facilitating their evidence-based appraisal. It is a reality th...
