After forty-five years of strict rule, it took nothing less than a miracle for communism in Romania to fall in such a short period of nine days. It was only with the help of the merciful hand of a loving God that this rapid change in the government could take place. Through God's own way and time, political barriers were overcome which allowed the restored gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached in Romania. As gunshots quieted and people emerged from hiding, Romanians joined their voices in singing a revolutionary chorus: Come Lord, Come. Uncertain about what would come next, the people were too caught up in their newly found freedoms to focus on the distant and uncertain future. Among many new freedoms was the freedom to worship openly. Through faith and prayer, the Romanians turned to their deep tradition of Christianity, and beckoned the Lord back into their country.Through the desire of the Romanian people to have Christ in their lives once again, the Lord's power has come to a beautiful land. Missionaries have dedicated themselves to the service of their fellowmen and the Lord; and the spirit of forgiving, healing, and hope has entered Romanians' hearts.

What is Mormonism?

What is Mormonism? A Student’s Introduction is an easy-to-read and informative overview of the religion founded by Joseph Smith in 1830. This short and lively book covers Mormonism’s history, core beliefs, rituals, and devotional practices, as well as the impact on the daily lives of its followers. The book focuses on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Salt Lake City-based church that is the largest and best-known expression of Mormonism, whilst also exploring lesser known churches that claim descent from Smith’s original revelations. Designed for undergraduate religious studies and history students, What is Mormonism? provides a reliable and easily digestible introduction to a steadily growing religion that continues to befuddle even learned observers of American religion and culture.

This account reveals the major contribution of Communist and left-wing politics to modern dance during its formative years in New York City. From Communist Party pageants to union hall performances to benefits for the Spanish Civil War, Graff documents the passionate invo...

William H. Byram moved from England to Ireland about the time his son, Nicholas Byram (ca.1610-1683), was born. When Nicholas was sixteen, his father sent him to visit friends in England in care of a man who betrayed his trust and sold Nicholas into indenturehood in the West Indies. After Nicholas had completed his indenturehood, he immigrated to Weymouth, Massachusetts, and married Susanna Shaw. They later moved to Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, California and elsewhere.
