Despite the catch-cry bandied about after the Holocaust, "Never Again", genocides continue to destroy cultures and communities around the globe. In this collection of essays, Australian scholars discuss the crime of genocide, examining regimes and episodes that stretch across time and geography. Included are discussions on Australia’s own history of genocide against its Indigenous peoples, mass killing and human rights abuses in Indonesia and North Korea, and new insights into some of the core twentieth century genocides, such as the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide. Forfatter og skuespiller Elith Reumerts biografi over skuespilleren Louise Phister (1816-1914), der var noget af en stjerne på den danske teaterscene i det 19. århundrede. Louise Phister nåede at spille med i 60 sæsoner på Det Kgl. Teater og afsluttede først endelig sin karriere som 85-årig i 1901, da hun optrådte som gæstestjerne i en lille rolle. Louise Phister var på mange måder en forgangskvinde, der insisterede på sin kunstneriske berettigelse også efter de glatte ungdomsår, selv om hun på samme tid var et beskedent mennesker, som også ejede en god portion selvironi. Om baggrunden for valget af Elith Reumert som biograf sagde skuespillerinden selv: "Hvad enten jeg ønsker det eller ikke... bliver jeg vel sagtens biograferet af En eller Anden, fordi jeg var længere ved Theateret, end man har set før, og fordi jeg bagefter levede saa rent ubegribeligt længe, at jeg alene paa Grund af min høje Alder næsten blev en hel Naturmærkværdighed. Og saa er der Ingen, jeg hellere vil have til at skrive om mig end Dig." Bogen er skrevet i og med samtidens sprog og retskrivning.
