The story opens with Cassandra (cassie) hurrying in to open her shop for the day. Keith shows a measure of interest as he is having coffee and looking at the shop acoss the way. He picks out a pin and matching earrings for his nurses bithday and indicates he will be waiting for Cassie when the shop closes so they might go to dinner.
