The Clinical Thinking of W. R. Bion in Brazil
The Clinical Thinking of W. R. Bion in Brazil is comprised of thirteen transcriptions of supervisions Wilfred Bion conducted during his three teaching and speaking tours of Brazil. During these tours, Bion conducted over 130 public supervisions of analytic cases in English in which he explained his theories and illustrated their clinical application. Following on from the first volume, Bion in Brazil: Supervisions and Commentaries (2017), this book presents each supervision in full, with an accompanying commentary written by a senior Brazilian psychoanalyst and Bionian scholar. Arguably, no psychoanalyst has had as much impact on psychoanalytic development in Brazil than Bion, and this collection of his seminars, presented here for the first time, acts as a historical document and testament to his legacy in contemporary analysis. The Clinical Thinking of W. R. Uma súmula e apreciação crítica de um evento que abrigou 490 psicanalistas de vários países, realizado no Colégio Santa Cruz, na cidade de São Paulo, sob o patrocínio da Sociedade Brasileira de Psicanálise de São Paulo (SBPSP) e da International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). Esse foi o primeiro encontro internacional sobre a obra de Wiled R. Bion no Brasil, chamado de Bion 2004 São Paulo. Foi organizado de modo único, visando a participação e a representatividade, isento de convidados, mas composto, nas várias sessões de trabalhos individuais e grupais, por psicanalistas eleitos pelos próprios participantes do encontro. Dentro do clima de liberdade e participação que imperou durante o evento, alguns dos apresentadores inseriram-se no elenco daqueles que precisavam ou desejavam ver sua contribuição compartilhada de modo escrito – cujo resultado é este livro.
Afinal, o que é experiência emocional em psicanálise
Os artigos tratam, em particular, da necessidade essencial de que haja envolvimento pessoal do analista em seu trabalho, com uma participação ativa na feitura da experiência emocional presente. Autistic Transformations
This book is a collection of articles written between 1992 and 2005 which attempts to bring two universes together - Bion's referential and autistic phenomena. The field of clinical work which the author uses is that of "learning from the emotional experience" (Bion, 1962) and the theory of Transformations (Bion, 1965), a method of observing mental phenomena within this field, which also encompasses the areas of neurosis and psychosis. The author makes use of Tustin's concept (1965) which proposes that the personality has, apart from the neurotic and psychotic parts, an autistic part in which prevails sensations in place of emotions. The author suggests adding an autistic area to the theory of Transformations, proposing a new type of transformation beyond those suggested by Bion: the autistic transformations. The merit of this proposal is to expand Bion's referential to the autistic area, an area dominated by sensations without representation in the mind.
