Enabling the Business of Agriculture 2016
Building on the progress report published in November 2014, Enabling the Business of Agriculture 2016: Comparing regulatory good practices provides a tool for policymakers to identify and analyze legal barriers for the business of agriculture and to quantify transaction costs of dealing with government regulations. The report presents the main results for 40 countries, for the first time using indicator scores to showcase good practices among countries in different stages of agricultural development. It also presents interesting results on the relationship between efficiency and quality of regulations, discriminatory practices in the laws and whether regulatory information is accessible. Regional, income-group and country-specific trends and data observations are presented on six topics: seed, fertilizer, machinery, finance, markets and transport. The report also discusses the continued development of several topics which will be added in future reports: information and communication technology, land, water, livestock, gender and environmental sustainability. Teacher Agency
Recent worldwide education policy has reinvented teachers as agents of change and professional developers of the school curriculum. Academic literature has analyzed changes in how teacher professionalism is conceived in policy and in practice but Teacher Agency provides a fresh perspective on this issue, drawing upon an ecological theory of agency. Using this model for understanding agency, Mark Priestley, Gert Biesta and Sarah Robinson explore empirical findings from the 'Teacher Agency and Curriculum Change' project, funded by the UK-based Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Drawing together this research with the authors' international experiences and perspectives, Teacher Agency addresses theoretical and practical issues of international significance. The authors illustrate how teacher agency should be understood not only in terms of individual capacity of teachers, but also in respect of the cultures and structures of schooling.

La conocida escritora Virginia Vidal, señala: -“De esta creación femenina resultan verdaderas joyas destinadas a permanecer en el tiempo. Cien formas de asomarse a una realidad palpable y atroz que nuestro país necesita asumir, constituyen un paisaje poblado de historias que sublevan, entristecen, imponen una reflexión”. En la segunda edición junto a a los cuentos de Alejandra Costmagna, Andrea Jeftanovic o Lina Meruane, se compilan los textos de Carmen Berenguer, Larissa Contreras, Soledad Fariña, Nona Fernández y Eugenia Prado, entre otras, las que aceptaron el reto de escribir un mini relato acerca de la violencia de género en no más de 150 palabras. Esta iniciativa se ha replicado en numerosos países con escritores de cada nación. También en USA en “Cien Latinas contra la violencia de género” a cargo de la escritora Ema Sepúlveda, entre otros. En 2014 se publicó la versión bilingüe traducida por Martha Manier, profesora emérita de la Humbolt State University (CA), con la colaboración de la profesora Jacqueline Nanfito.
