My Own Edmonstons and a Few Others
Thomas Edmonston and his son, Archibald Edmonston (ca.1667-1734) emigrated from Scotland or Ireland, in about 1670, to land in Maryland which is now part of Washington, D.C., where Archibald married Jane Beall. He died in 1734. Descendants lived in Maryland, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, Washington, California and elsewhere.

Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Edmondson (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Ireland, and Scotland; some were Irish Quakers. In the 1600's-1800's, some immigrated to New Brunswick (Canada), and to Delaware, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Later descendants also lived in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Washington D.C., Wisconsin, and elsewhere. Some have African American bloodlines. Some have American Indian bloodlines.
My Coats Family
William Coats, Sr. (d.1753) was the son of Thomas Coats of England. He emigrated to the Colonies in 1719 and settled at Charles Town, SC. He was the father of five children. His son William Coats, Jr. (d.1784) was the father of six children. Twenty-six generations of ancestors and descendants are given.

This "Supplement to Genealogies in the Library of Congress" lists all genealogies in the Library of Congress that were catalogued between 1972 and 1976, showing acquisitions made by the Library in the five years since publication of the original two-volume Bibliography. Arranged alphabetically by family name, it adds several thousand works to the canon, clinching the Bibliography's position as the premier finding-aid in genealogy.
