Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of David Kaufman who was likely born ca. 1700 in an area subject to the "Emperor of Germany" according to his oath of allegiance on 9 January 1929/30. He was one of two sons of Anne Kaufman. David immigrated to America with his mother and brother (Jacob) sometime prior to the year 1716. He married Veronica Hoch sometime prior to the year 1727. David and Veronica settled in Oley, Pennsylvania and their son (Johannes), whome this book concerns, later established the township of Maidencreek, Pennsylvania. David was the father of six children. Descendants lived primarily in Pennsylvania.

Edward Willett was born 19 October 1657 in Hertford, England. His parents were Edward Willett (b. 1625) and Elizabeth Pegg. He was probably in in Maryland as early as 1666 but he returned to London to learn the trade of pewterer in 1674. He married Tabitha Mill in 1697. They had seven children. Family history of Heinrich Jacob Young (1791-1872), son of George Jacob and Anna Maria Young, who was born at Knopp, Pfalz, Germany. He married (1) 1816 in Hettenhausen, Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany Margaretha Utzinger (1789-1832), daughter of John Adam Utzinger and Margaretha Ihemm. Their first four children were born in Hettenhausen. Between 1826 and 1828 family moved to Mittelbrunn, where their fifth child was born. Heinrich remarried 1840 (2) Ottilia Reiter (ca. 1800-1868), daughter of Peter Reiter and Margaretha Rottman, from Kirchenarnbach. She bore three children before her marriage to Heinrich Jacob Young. Couple's emigration date from Germany is not known, but the 1860 U.S. Census finds them living with their children in Jefferson Township, Wells County, Indiana. Family members settled in Ossian, Indiana (in Allen County). Descendants live in Indiana, Michigan, Georgia, California, Washington, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin, New York and elsewhere.
