Cahiers D'Art: Cildo Meireles
This Cahiers d'Art issue edited in collaboration with Cildo Meireles explores various dimensions of the artist's work: the question of origin and territory, linked to the indigenous universe; the question of architecture, place and scale; the relation between object and body. It also analyses the synaesthetic aspect of Cildo's works, as well as his particular exploration of language, through unpublished texts and notes dedicated. Brazilian Art Under Dictatorship
After the Brazilian military took power in a coup in 1964, many artists tried to distance themselves from politics; others went into exile. This book covers the most culturally repressive years of the regime, from 1968-74 and looks at artists who found their own visual language of resistance, outside government-controlled cultural centers or the militant left.
Salt & Sugar-- No Sugar, No Salt
This volume documents an installation by Cildo Meireles and Antoni Muntadas at the Kunsthalle Marcel Duchamp. For this occasion, the artists divided the space with a transparent partition; on one side they created a pile of sugar, on the other a pile of salt. Bilingual (English/Spanish).
