The information within this book deals with the first three generations of the Watson family in Australia. The story begins in the small village of Therfield in the County of Hertfordshire, England in 1812 with James's father William and his wife Esther Batt and their seven children. James and his wife Rebecca Oliver, with 2 sons left England in 1851 on board 'The David McIver" as assisted migrants bound for Sydney, Australia. The family eventually settled inthe Clarence Valley at Woodford Island.
