Thirteen-year-old Ezra Woods likes science as long as it is fun. After determining that he and his friends, Corbin, Elijah, and Will, could potentially travel into the future, Ezra invents a machine that he believes will help them get there. But when his friends test the machine before he has finished building the antigenerator, Ezra is suddenly propelled into the portal where the adventure of a lifetime awaits. Only one question remains: Where is he exactly? After he quickly reunites with his buddies, Ezra determines they have emerged from a black hole to arrive in a universe populated with aliens, one billion years in the future. Ezra and his friends quickly realize that they have superpowers. As soon as he learns that he and his friends are the most powerful people in their universe, and that the universe cannot win a war without them, Ezra realizes they have no choice but to fight. Now they must risk everything to save each other and the universe. But will they ever find their way back home? In this suspenseful tale, a group of teenagers fall into a portal and travel a billion years into the future where they must attempt to fulfill an important mission.
