A Paris, à l'automne 1985, une lycéenne de 16 ans dépose, d'un coup de mobylette, une longue lettre sous la porte de Serge Gainsbourg, 5 bis rue de Verneuil. Quelques heures plus tard, celui-ci l'appelle et l'invite à dîner.C'est le début d'une liaison qui durera jusqu'à la mort de Gainsbourg, en mars 1991. Serge et Constance se voient régulièrement, chez l'artiste ou ailleurs. Restaurant, séance de travail, boîte de nuit, émission TV, virée au commissariat voisin, palace parisien, nuits blanches : ils partagent nombre d'excentricités. " Constant dans l'inconstance/Tu ne sais pas où tu vas ", écrit Serge dans Sois plus doux avec moi, en forme de clin d'oeil. Constance Meyer n'avait jamais fait état publiquement de cette relation. 25 ans plus tard, elle nous livre ce récit personnel, tendre et poétique. Ses mots, pour quitter le silence du secret, servent de thérapie à la jeune fille devenue femme.
