O livro que aqui se apresenta tem como objetivo promover reflexões sobre a formação do professor que ensina Ciências e Matemática nos primeiros anos da escolarização. Para tanto, os capítulos discutem sobre diferentes aspectos da formação inicial e continuada, como as tecnologias, experiências no Observatório da Educação, grupo de estudos etc. O livro é constituído por nove capítulos: o primeiro apresenta uma proposta de formação e investigação junto a professores discutindo sobre Ciências e Matemática; quatro deles discutem a formação, no que se refere à disciplina de Ciências; e outros quatro abordam questões da formação de professores que ensinam Matemática. Um dos fios condutores do livro é o trabalho em parceria entre diferentes atores, como professores dos anos iniciais, licenciandos em Pedagogia, Química, Física, Matemática e Biologia, pós-graduandos em Educação e pesquisadores.

Este livro oferece a leitura de uma coletânea de narrativas, reflexões e memórias de professores e professoras que ensinam Ciências e Matemática, especialmente, apresentando suas vivências trabalhando com ensino remoto — ou uma de tantas outras nomenclaturas dadas — durante a pandemia causada pelo coronavírus (SARS-CoV-2). Os capítulos que compõem a obra foram escritos por professores e professoras da educação básica e do ensino superior e têm como temas situações vivenciadas, reflexões e propostas para o trabalho com ensino remoto de Ciências ou Matemática. Percebemos a necessidade de narrar e também conhecer outras narrativas a respeito do ensino dessas disciplinas no contexto da pandemia.
