The focus of this bienal of architecture is related to the experience of living in large contemporary cities and to consider solutions to organize the urban spaces, harmonizing the chaos and the contradictions of the cities with the hope to amplify the debate about the questions concerning architecture and urban planning. The catalogue is divided into national special exhibitions, international special exhibitions, national representations, general exhibition of architects and an international contest of architecture schools. A special section on design is included. Each section is alphabetically organized. Some of the countries represented are: Argentina, Germany, South Africa, Austria, China, United States, France, Holland, Israel, Mexico, Portugal, Sweden. Este livro é sobre a linguagem arquitetônica da fachada principal e do retábulo-mor da Catedral Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Campinas, a partir da apuração dos processos de levantamento métrico e do seu desenho instrumental da época de sua constituição, fornecendo uma reconstituição da sua orientação clássica, estudando-a como fonte e documento histórico, por meio do seu testemunho material, tornando, assim, a Catedral Nossa Senhora da Conceição de Campinas um objeto paradigmático da arquitetura clássica da cidade dentro de um contexto brasileiro. A ideia é demonstrar, portanto, como a Catedral de Campinas foi projetada dentro de preceptivas clássicas com diversas autorias, períodos e vertentes teóricas, tendo como resultado um todo único, híbrido, erudito, recriativo, exemplar, contrariando a historiografia vigente de que a arquitetura do século XIX no Brasil é uma "cópia de modelos importados".

This third volume of the series analyses the restoration of 6 "bandeirista" (bandeirantes-style) ranch houses of colonial explorers done by the IPHAN (Institute of National Historic and Artistic Patrimony) and the DPH (Department of Historic Patrimony of the Prefeitura) from 1954 to 2000 in different locations of Sao Paulo. The book is organized in two main chapters: the first section examines in detail the construction and their historical context and a second section analyses the restoration methodology, the earthen building components and the archaeological remains of the following houses: Casa do Butanta, Casa do Caxingui, Sítio da Ressaca, Casa do Tatuapé and Sítio Morrinhos. This is a subject that lies at the frontiers of knowledge of various areas, such as environmental sciences, nutrition, public health, and humanities. To date, however, we do not have a book bringing these multi-disciplinary perspectives to bear on this complex field. This book presents the current state of knowledge on local Brazilian food plants through a multidisciplinary approach, including an overview of food plants in Brazil, as well as comprehensive nutritional data.
