Donor-Acceptor Cyclopropanes in Organic Synthesis

Facilitate milder, simpler reactions in organic synthesis with this cutting-edge family of building blocks Donor-Accepted Cyclopropanes, or DACs, have attracted a resurgence of interest from organic chemists in recent decades for their role in facilitating various reactions such as cycloadditions, annulations, ring-opening and enantioselective transformations. The structural arrangement of DACs leads to milder, simpler reaction conditions, which have made them indispensable for a range of fundamentally and industrially important processes. Donor-Acceptor Cyclopropanes in Organic Synthesis covers comprehensively the chemistry and applications of this compound class. The result is an invaluabl...

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 18th International Conference on Mathematical Optimization Theory and Operations Research, MOTOR 2019, held in Ekaterinburg, Russia, in July 2019. The 48 full papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 170 submissions. MOTOR 2019 is a successor of the well-known International and All-Russian conference series, which were organized in Ural, Siberia, and the Far East for a long time. The selected papers are organized in the following topical sections: mathematical programming; bi-level optimization; integer programming; combinatorial optimization; optimal control and approximation; data mining and computational geometry; games and mathematical economics.

Index Theory of Elliptic Operators, Foliations, and Operator Algebras

Combining analysis, geometry, and topology, this volume provides an introduction to current ideas involving the application of $K$-theory of operator algebras to index theory and geometry. In particular, the articles follow two main themes: the use of operator algebras to reflect properties of geometric objects and the application of index theory in settings where the relevant elliptic operators are invertible modulo a $C^*$-algebra other than that of the compact operators. The papers in this collection are the proceedings of the special sessions held at two AMS meetings: the Annual meeting in New Orleans in January 1986, and the Central Section meeting in April 1986. Jonathan Rosenberg's exposition supplies the best available introduction to Kasparov's $KK$-theory and its applications to representation theory and geometry. A striking application of these ideas is found in Thierry Fack's paper, which provides a complete and detailed proof of the Novikov Conjecture for fundamental groups of manifolds of non-positive curvature. Some of the papers involve Connes' foliation algebra and its $K$-theory, while others examine $C^*$-algebras associated to groups and group actions on spaces.

The Novikov Conjecture

These lecture notes contain a guided tour to the Novikov Conjecture and related conjectures due to Baum-Connes, Borel and Farrell-Jones. They begin with basics about higher signatures, Whitehead torsion and the s-Cobordism Theorem. Then an introduction to surgery theory and a version of the assembly map is presented. Using the solution of the Novikov conjecture for special groups some applications to the classification of low dimensional manifolds are given.

Because it continually implements entrepreneurial creativity and innovative business models, the economic landscape is ever-changing in today’s globalized world. As consumers become more willing to accept new strategic trends, this has led to the emergence of disruptive technologies. Since this equipment has an insufficient amount of information and high risks, it is necessary to assess the potential of disruptive technologies in the commercial environment. Impact of Disruptive Technologies on the Sharing Economy provides emerging research exploring the theoretical and practical aspects of disruptive technologies and knowledge-based entrepreneurial efforts and applications within management, business, and economics. Featuring coverage on a broad range of topics such as consumer ethics, corporate governance, and insurance issues, this book is ideally designed for IT specialists, IT consultants, software developers, computer engineers, managers, executives, managing directors, students, professors, scientists, professionals, industry practitioners, academicians, and researchers seeking current research on the consequences of disruptive technologies.

Topology of Closed One-Forms

Farber examines the geometrical, topological, and dynamical properties of closed one-forms, highlighting the relations between their global and local features. He describes the Novikov numbers and inequalities, the universal complex and its construction, Bott-type inequalities and those with Von Neumann Betti numbers, equivariant theory, the exactness of Novikov inequalities, the Morse theory of harmonic forms, and Lusternick-Schnirelman theory.
