Claiming the Dispossession
With the Treaty of Versailles, the Western nation-state powers introduced into the East Central European region the principle of national self-determination. This principle was buttressed by frustrated native elites who regarded the establishment of their respective nation-states as a welcome opportunity for their own affirmation. They desired sovereignty but were prevented from accomplishing it by their multiple dispossession. National elites started to blame each other for this humiliating condition. The successor states were dispossessed of power, territories, and glory. The new nation-states were frustrated by their devastating condition. The dispersed Jews were left without the imperial protection. This embarrassing state gave rise to collective (historical) and individual (fictional) narratives of dispossession. This volume investigates their intended and unintended interaction. Composing Women
This volume presents fifteen musicological perspectives on the creativity of women composers and the question of 'femininity' in Southeastern-European musical cultures from 1918 on. In the questions about and beyond a 'female aesthetics', socio-cultural approaches to the lives of creative women prove to be indispensable for contemporary musicological gender research, because highly complex facts of musical life and social realities in political systems cannot be separated from each other. By this means the exclusion and marginalization of women composers in the national and international music establishment, as well as strategies for overcoming these systems, are made visible and brought to consciousness. This volume therefore focusses on the social, cultural, and biological preconditions of cultural action, and intends to arouse curiosity for multi-layered realities; it aims to increase the reception of the compositional oeuvre of women composers from Southeastern Europe by the global music scene, the musicological discourse, and an engaged audience.
Popisni atlas Slovenije 2002
Popisni atlas Slovenije 2002 je prvi popisni atlas naše države. Z njim se je Slovenija pridružila številnim državam, ki s popisi pridobljene podatke objavljajo tudi v obliki atlasov. Popis prebivalstva, gospodinjstev in stanovanj v Republiki Sloveniji, ki ga je leta 2002 izvedel Statistični urad RS, je bil petnajsti popis prebivalstva na našem ozemlju, sedmi po drugi svetovni vojni in prvi v samostojni državi. Da bi bil atlas razumljen in uporaben v širši javnosti, so v tematske sklope razvrščenim zemljevidom dodana pojasnjevalna besedila z grafikoni in fotografijami. Vsebina je razdeljena na osem vsebinskih sklopov, v katerih zgoščena besedila osvetljuje več kot 100 zemljevidov. V želji, da bi knjigo uporabljalo čim več ljudi, so se uredniki odločili za priročen format A4, ki še omogoča prikaze v merilu 1:1.000.000. V tem merilu je prikaz statističnih podatkov dovolj nazoren, da lahko jasno razločimo razširjenost pojava na določenem delu državnega ozemlja.
Ljubljana
Ob 18. zborovanju slovenskih geografov je skupina avtorjev pripravila bogato ilustrirano in dokumentirano znanstveno monografijo o slovenski prestolnici. Knjiga je razdeljena na tri poglavja. V prvem, ki se ukvarja z zgradbo mesta, je najprej predstavljen njegov zgodovinski razvoj od 16. stoletja naprej. Sledi obravnava socialnogeografske, morfološke in funkcijske zgradbe ter gibanja števila prebivalcev v različnih obdobjih po mestnih četrtih. Drugo poglavje o okolju ima velik aplikativni pomen. Vanj je vključena večina naravnogeografskih in ekoloških tem, kot so značilnosti mestnega podnebja, ogroženost zaradi naravnih nesreč, vloga vodnih virov ipd. V tretjem poglavju spoznavamo Ljubljano v povezanosti z okolico oziroma njenim gravitacijskim območjem. Poglobimo se v značilnosti njenih prometnih povezav in območij rekreacije. Seznanimo se tudi s problematiko razvoja podeželskega dela Mestne občine Ljubljana.
Sezonstvo in izseljenstvo v panonskem prostoru: sosedstvo Avstrije, Hrvaške, Madžarske in Slovenije
Zbornik predstavlja razširjene razprave z istoimenske mednarodne konference, ki so jo organizirali Inštitut za slovensko izseljenstvo ZRC SAZU (Ljubljana), Ustanova dr. Šiftarjeva fundacija (Petanjci) in Inštitut za migracije in narodnosti (Zagreb) od 22. do 25. oktobra 2002 v Radencih pod pokroviteljstvom predsednika Republike Slovenije g. Milana Kučana. Avtorji razprav so iz različnih držav: Argentine, Avstrije, Hrvaške, Italije, Japonske, Madžarske, Nemčije in Slovenije. Nit dela nas pelje od procesov oblikovanja večkulturne podobe panonskega prostora v zgodovinski perspektivi skozi analize sezonstva in izseljenstva po različnih skupinah in kontekstih do situacije po drugi svetovni vojni vse do danes. Analiza migracijske dinamike po skupinah in kontekstih obravnava tako populacijo prekmurskih študentov na Madžarskem in Slovaškem, prekmurskih Slovencev v Argentini in slovenskih (prekmurskih) redovnic v Franciji kot tudi migracijsko situacijo v Porabju in na Gradiščanskem.
