O primeiro movimento teatral ocorrido na cidade de Pirassununga data de 23 de abril de 1879, data em que foi lançada a pedra fundamental para a construção do Teatro São Francisco, primeira casa de espetáculos da cidade. O tempo passou, diversos lugares apareceram e desapareceram, até que no ano de 1992, por iniciativa do prefeito Ademir Alves Lindo, o antigo Cine Cacique foi desapropriado e ali foi construído o Teatro Municipal Cacilda Becker], em homenagem a grande atriz pirassununguense, considerada a eterna primeira dama do teatro brasileiro. Desde seu início, o autor deste livro esteve presente. Inicialmente, como fiscal de obras acompanhando a adaptação do então cinema em teatro e, depois, como Diretor.
